Lesley L. is the founder and Owner of Peak City Puppy.  She recently moved to the Briar Chapel neighborhood in Chapel Hill which served as a great reason to bring high quality pet care to residents of the surrounding neighborhoods.  Lesley has built a successful business in Wake County where she lived for 8 years before relocating to Briar Chapel and is happy to expand to this growing area.

SARAH P.

DOG WALKER & PET SITTER, Chapel Hill

Like so many of our Team Members, Sarah P. first came to Peak City Puppy as a client; using our Dog Walk services for her 7-year old Golden Retriever, Nutmeg.  Sarah graduated with a B.S. from Elon University and works full-time in the Environmental Protection field.  She is a back-up Dog Walker and Pet Sitter to help support the expansion to Chapel Hill.  Sarah personally trained her own dog and has previously owned two cats.  When Sarah isn’t working two jobs, caring for her family or throwing a ball for her dog, she’s drinking good coffee or hiking in beautiful places.

MEET OUR CARY & MORRISVILLE DOG WALKING & PET SITTING TEAM

KIM J. – Lead Dog Walker & Pet Sitter

Kim is known by her family and friends for her love of theater, poetry, and dogs.  Kim has had life-long relationships with a variety of wonderful canines, from a 140 pound Rottweiller named Brutus to her current 11 pound to chiweenie, Japhy. Kim also gave her heart to one rescue dog that required a great deal of special attention, and so she has experience with fear aggression and dog aggression.

In the human realm, Kim is a life coach who recently moved from the Bay Area of California back to Cary to be close to her elderly parents. Cary has changed a lot in the 24 years that she was on the West Coast, but it hasn’t lost its charm, and Kim is thrilled to be back in the beautiful South where the pace is slower and the seasons are dramatic. A graduate of Cary High School and UNC-Chapel Hill, Kim is currently completing a second masters degree in addition to being our Cary Dog Walker and Pet Sitter.

CAROL D. – Dog Walker, Cary

Carol loves animals so much that she routinely brought home strays as a child and had parents who actually let her keep them! She grew up in Raleigh, NC and was lucky enough to move overseas to France for three years and brought her beloved dog Jack who travelled with her everywhere. She knows first hand that French dogs really do understand French (probably better than she does!).

Carol lives in Cary, NC with her family and has two Maine Coon mix cats named Honey and Sadie that match each other, much like her identical teenage twin girls who provided much on-the-job-training that made her a perfect fit for caring for animals. She attended NC State University and has a business degree and spent over eight years working in customer service and in Human Resources. Carol loves to give the animals lots of attention and take care of them just as she does her own.

MARY T. – Lead Dog Walker, West Cary & Morrisville

Mary hails from Boston, MA and has lived in Cary for the past four years with her husband, son, daughter, two cats and a dog.  Mary holds a BS degree from Salem State University, Salem, MA and has previously been employed as an Editorial Training Assistant at Houghton Mifflin Publishing Co., Boston, MA.  A  natural born caregiver, Mary has spent many years raising her family as well as providing caregiving to family members and friends in need.  She is currently an active member and volunteer in the community,  and devoted advocate for the poor, homeless and housebound.  Currently she volunteers for Meals on Wheels, local food pantries, weekly nursing home visitor, and is an active volunteer at  her daughter’s school.

Most of all Mary is very excited to finally be able to pursue her passion and love for animals by working at Peak City Puppy. She will provide the best caregiving to your beloved pets and treat them with the love and compassion that they deserve.

CHRISTINE S. – Lead Dog Walker, West Cary

Christine and her husband and moved to NC in 1992 and successfully raised two sons, one who is now at NC State and one who is in high school.  A former work friend told her about Peak City Puppy and Christine felt she would be a perfect fit since walking dogs is among her favorite activities.  A former preschool teacher, Christine feels interacting with children and dogs is very similar and is up for the challenges and rewards!

An active volunteer with the Wake County SPCA, Christine has found engaging with rescue animals very rewarding.  She adopted her own “SPCA Special” hound girl, Cookie, who gets walked on the greenways in West Cary daily.  In her own home, she also cares for fish, two guinea pigs, and a milk snake, Clementine.

DONNA A. Dog Walker, West Cary

After a 28 year career developing software at SAS, Donna A. took the opportunity to work doing things “that bring me great joy and provide meaningful service to others”.  Working as a dog walker for Peak City Puppy is now one of them.  Donna is also a Certified Personal Trainer, and loves that she will be able to combine enthusiasm for fitness in her new roles.
Donna has been a pet owner and lover of animals her whole life and can’t imagine life without pets.  She has lived in the Green Level community (now becoming Western Cary) for 25 years with her husband and 2 children.  She currently has 3 dogs and a cat who play a very important role in their family life.

NANCY A. Dog Walker, West Cary

Nancy recently moved to Cary, NC from Tucson, AZ where she has been a professional pet sitter for the past three years.  Her first love is that of animals and she’s cared for everything from large dogs to small house pets and in between.  Nancy is retired after working in the business and law enforcement world for more than 40 years including the Colorado Springs Police Department, Pima County Sheriff’s Department, IBM, and the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.

REBECCA F. – Pet Sitter, West Cary

Rebecca has lived in Apex since 2013. Originally from Maryland, she came to North Carolina for college at Campbell University and loved the area so much she stayed! A full-time medical social worker for a local hospice agency, Rebecca loves balancing out her work life with Peak City Puppy.

Rebecca is mom to two adorable pets: Chai, a terrier-mix rescue dog, and Boppli (Pennsylvania Dutch for Baby), her rescue guinea pig. Growing up in a family of animal lovers, it’s only natural that she would carry on her passion for pets in her personal and professional life. In her free time Rebecca is active in her church, enjoys spending time with friends and family, and often is training for her next race. Having some half marathons to her credit, she plans to train for her first full marathon in late 2018.

NADINE P. Pet Sitter, East Cary

Lesley White, MHA, is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill and co-founder of Peak City Puppy, a company built around her own four-legged family.  She has raised four large-breed rescue dogs in her lifetime and is a single-mom to two young daughters.

As a proud resident of the Peak City of Apex, her experience as a pet owner shaped her small business:

“I was frustrated with the lack of good options for my dogs when I moved to Apex. Companies seemed to charge fees for every little thing and individuals were often unreliable.  I knew I could use these experiences to build a service that keeps the pet owner in mind, because I am one.”

- Lesley White, Owner

All Peak City Puppy team members are over the age of 21 and current or former pet owners themselves.  Prior to meeting with clients, all team members go through a thorough training including coursework and field visits with a Territory Manager.  Team Members are covered under the company’s liability insurance and bonding policies.

CHRISTINE Z. – CLIENT SERVICES MANAGER

Christine has lived in Holly Springs for 15 years but walks dogs all over our Service Area; serving as Territory Manager for our East Cary and Raleigh Territories.  In 2015, she was also promoted to Client Services Manager to help ensure our main office remains available to client needs during the week.

She has had four-legged family members her entire life. Christine has always been a huge animal lover, and enjoys spending time with her dog Lexi, who was adopted from the Wake County SPCA. Christine cannot imagine a life without the love of a dog, and loves spending time with all of her Peak City Puppy clients.

Lesley White is the founder of Peak City Puppy, a company built around her own four-legged family.  At one time she had three large-breed rescue dogs and needed professional dog walking services but found few good options to exist in the Triangle.

As a proud resident of the Peak City of Apex, she is a regular participant in Triangle-area pet advocacy and protection efforts. Her experience as a pet owner shaped the start of Peak City Puppy:

“I was frustrated with the lack of good options for my dogs when we moved to Apex. After a few bad experiences with boarding kennels, I looked into in-home pet sitting and found a wide range of quality in service & professionalism. I knew we could use these experiences to build a service that always keeps the pet owner in mind.”

LESLEY W.

FOUNDER & HEAD TRAINER

Lesley handles all screening and hiring of new team members and personally trains her team on Peak City Puppy standards of care.

She has a graduate degree in from UNC-Chapel Hill and spent a decade in the fast-paced corporate healthcare industry. Ten years as a road warrior provided Lesley with an appreciation for the unique challenges facing busy working professionals:  finding reliable, flexible and affordable pet care. Too often, boarding kennels were full or inflexible with her work schedule, while private pet sitting experiences ranged dramatically in quality of service.

Lesley lives in Apex with her two young daughters and rescue dog, Little Bear.

CHRISTINE Z. – Client Services Manager

Christine joined Peak City Puppy in 2014 after the company bought Wig Wag Walk, a Raleigh Dog Walking company.  She was quickly promoted to Client Services Manager to help ensure our main office remains available to client needs during the week.

While Christine lived in Holly Springs for over 18 years to raise her family, she stayed on with Peak City Puppy after a relocation to Denver, Colorado in 2017!

Christine has always been a huge animal lover, and enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Dr. Rick Marshall and Lexi, who were both adopted from rescue organizations. Christine cannot imagine a life without the love of a dog and that spirit shines through as she greets customers on the phone as the face of our business.
