MEET OUR APEX DOG WALKING & PET SITTING TEAM

ERIKA H.

TEAM MANAGER, Apex

Erika loves her job as a pet sitter and dog walker with Peak City Puppy.  Being an only child, Erika always begged for a dog or cat when she was younger, but was unsuccessful in her efforts. Once she lived on her own, she started out small and got one dog, but didn’t stop there. Now she has four fur babies and would have more if her husband would allow it. Erika is a Jersey Girl at heart, and has since lived in Pennsylvania, Arizona, and currently in Apex, NC. She gradated with a BFA from Marywood University in 2004.

KAREN P.

DOG WALKER & PET SITTER, East Apex

Karen lives in Apex and splits her time walking dogs in both our Apex and Raleigh territories.  A former customer service representative at a major airline, Karen knows how to take care of her dog clients AND their parents – providing peace of mind that they receive a good long walk on each visit!

Karen loves to perform and sings with the NC Master Chorale in her spare time.  In fact, her entire family is musical including her husband and two adolescent children.  When they are not on the stage, they can usually be found walking their neighborhood with their own dog, Ziggy (7 year old Labradoodle) or playing with their cat, Fizzy (9 year old rescue).

AMY F.

DOG WALKER & PET SITTER, APEX

Amy recently moved to the Apex area from Winstom-Salem, NC. Originally from Ohio, Amy has always had a passion and kind heart for animals. Her soulmate Jax (Lab-Boxer rescue), baby Sawyer (Lab-Boxer rescue) and princess Tellulah (rescue calico) provide her company when she’s not looking out for the care of others pets. A former restaurant owner turned dedicated mother of two kids and a tolerant wife, Amy is so excited to be a part of the Peak City Team!

MARY M.

DOG WALKER & PET SITTER, APEX

Mary has lived in the area for 12 years. She moved out to New Hill 3 years ago.  Mary loves animals of every kind, and constantly annoys her family by stopping to pet and love on  every dog she sees while out.  Mary has 2 dogs, Abbey & Toby as well as 2 grand pups that come to visit named Tucker & Luke.  When she isn’t pet walking/sitting, she enjoys traveling & hiking with her husband and visiting her 4 daughters.

HEATHER K.

PET SITTER, APEX

All of her life, Heather has had cats and/or dogs. She loves how each pet has their own fun and different personality quirks and all offer unconditional love. There is nothing that she looks forward to more than arriving home from work and having her cats AND dog all run to the door to greet her, excited that she is home. A self described animal lover, she has always felt that animals need even more care and support than some people do because animals have no voice and can’t speak up for themselves. Heather is originally from Canada and lived for 12 years in Italy before moving to the United States. Apex is now her home where she lives with her husband Chris and 3 “kids” (all are the 4-legged kind). She currently has 2 Siamese cats named: Buddy and Mack who are her sweet, blue-eyed boys and she has a young Australian Shepherd named Ellie Mae who is a funny, energetic and smart dog with a big personality. Heather is excited to be working at Peak City Puppy because she gets to surround herself with even more 4-legged friends to love.

JILL F.

PET SITTER, APEX

Jill is originally from West Virginia but has lived in Apex since moving here in 2010.  She is an active volunteer at the SPCA of Wake County and regularly provides foster care to cats, kittens and nursing mothers with kittens.  Jill always had animals growing up (dogs as a young child and now cats).  Her current companions include Arthur & Merlin, both rescues.

While she hopes to one day own her own business as operator of a cat cafe or rescue, Jill is excited to care for all sorts of Peak City Puppy pets whenever she is not working at her full-time job in medical credentialing.

MANDY D.

PET SITTER, East Apex

Mandy has been a resident of Apex for 8 years, and considers herself very fortunate to be a part of this wonderful community.  She moved from California, with her husband and two daughters; one who is now a UNCW student, and the other attends Apex High School.

Growing up, her family bred Yorkshire Terriers, so she’s always had dogs around her, and can’t imagine not having a dog (or 2) to come home to every day.

Mandy also works at the News & Observer, in Raleigh, during the week.

She enjoys spending her free time outdoors, with her family and her 2 cockapoos, Uma and Tessa.  Having one dog who is completely blind, she’s understanding and patient with a dog who needs some extra guidance getting around.

Mandy is excited to have joined the Peak City Puppy team, and looks forward to making sure your pets have the care they need, with lots of attention!
