Meet Our Team

Landon & Lesley Lovelace are co-founders of PEAK CITY PUPPY, a company built around their own four-legged family.  The couple has three large-breed rescue dogs:  Jersey, Parker & Scout.

As proud residents of the ‘Peak City’ of Apex, they are regular participants in Triangle-area pet advocacy and protection efforts. Their experience as pet owners has shaped their small business: 

All team members employed by  PEAK CITY PUPPY are American Red Cross certified in Pet CPR and First Aid and are covered under the company’s liability insurance and bonding policies.  The team holds membership in NAPPS (National Association of Professional Pet Sitters) and PSI (Pet Sitters International).

Lesley is an alumnus of UNC Chapel Hill and spent a decade in the fast-paced corporate healthcare industry.  Ten years as a road warrior provided Lesley with an appreciation for the unique challenges facing busy working professionals:  finding reliable, flexible and affordable pet care.  Too often, boarding kennels were full or inflexible with her work schedule, while private pet sitting experiences ranged dramatically in quality of service.

Lesley co-founded PEAK CITY PUPPY with a desire to create an entirely new service experience for Triangle pets and their owners:  a professional pet care company built with the pet owner in mind.

Landon is a licensed professional engineer by trade, having worked for nearly ten years in the private sector as a project manager and civil engineer.  By co-founding PEAK CITY PUPPY, Landon turned a lifetime of pet ownership into a professional pet care company that is unparalleled in its attention to detail.

Landon manages daily operations for PEAK CITY PUPPY and works directly with new clients to define their pet care needs to provide a safe, reliable and affordable alternative to boarding kennels.  

SABRINA is a friend and former co-worker of Lesley’s from the corporate world.  After 6 years in the office, Sabrina decided to make the transition to PEAK CITY PUPPY, while pursuing a Master’s degree in Nutrition. 

A pet owner and former veterinary assistant, Sabrina brings a wealth of knowledge to her part-time role supporting the team in Cary, Apex and Morrisville.  Her favorite experience thus far has been providing New Puppy Service to puppies as young as ten-weeks such as: Baker, BoBo, Nikki & Dakota.

ELKA is a proud stay at home mom to three children, two dogs and three cats.  She is also a trained biologist with dreams of one day returning to the workforce full-time as a veterinary assistant.  

For now, we are lucky to have her joining the PEAK CITY PUPPY team part-time, assisting with coverage in Holly Springs, West Raleigh and Cary.  Her favorite assignments are Mid-Day Dog Walks down the greenway with pups like Angel, Cameron & Harlei.  

JULIE is a former franchise owner and corporate marketing coordinator turned full-time professional pet sitter in 2009.  Much like us, Julie has found the business of caring for pets to be incredibly rewarding and will be working with the PEAK CITY PUPPY team full-time in Morrisville, Cary and West Raleigh. 

Julie is an accomplished marathoner and proud mom to her own Sheltie named Dougie.  She enjoys all assignments, especially weekend and overnight Pet Sitting.   

LAURA is our award winning broadcast journalist, having worked both at CNN and been featured on a local NBC television station out of Wilmington, NC!

A proud alumnus of the University of Georgia, Laura moved to the area recently with her husband and is now pursuing alternate career dreams; including working with PEAK CITY PUPPY part-time to care for pets in Cary, Morrisville and Apex.  Laura raised and trained her own lab puppy and is eager to meet clients with New Puppy Service needs of their own.
