FAQ
How much advanced notice do I need to schedule pet care?
We typically ask for 72 hours notice, but we are willing to, and often able to, accommodate on shorter notice. An initial consultation would still be required for new clientes prior to our first visit. This is to ensure that we have all the necessary information to provide proper care for your pet(s).
Do you charge additional fees for special needs or Holiday care?
What makes us unique among Triangle-area Pet Sitters is that we do NOT charge additional fees for visits on any holiday or for special needs shuch as medicine administration, specific food preparation, etc. Visit prices include care for ALL of your pets; with no hidden surcharges!
What areas do you serve?
Our pet sitting, dog walking, and new puppy services are available in Apex, Cary, Morrisville, Holly Springs, and parts of Raleigh and Fuquay-Varina. Please view our Service Area Map here. If you are outside of our service area, we may still be able to provide service. Please give us a call to discuss your request.
How does in-home pet sitting compare to kennel boarding?
The level of stress a pet feels is significantly less when staying in familiar surroundings and maintaining normal routines, which is possible when you leave the care of your pet up to us. There is no need to hassle with dropping your pet off a day early or picking them up a day late (not to mention paying for the extra days). There is alos a reduced risk of exposure to animal illnesses and encountering agressive animals.
What happens if my pet gets injured or becomes ill while I’m away?
If an Emergency does arise during our visit, every team member at Peak City Puppy is Pet CPR & First Aid certified through the American Red Cross and is trained to handle animal emergency situations. We will typically take your pet(s) to your normal vet’s office. If your vet is unavailable, Peak City Puppy is proud to offer all clientes 24-hour Emergency On-Call service from a partnership with Dr. Jodi Reed, DVM at Harmony Animal Hospital in Apex. We will always make an immediate attempt to contact you and keep you well informed of the situation.
What makes Peak City Puppy different from other pet care services?
All team members are pet owners ourselves which makes us pet care consumers as well as providers. We have run the gamut of service experiences both with kennels and other pet sitting companies. We built this company with the pet owner in mind: from the initial visit to sending regular e-mail, VM or text messages, to following up with clients on tehir return to ensure full satisfaction. We work hard to keep our clients happy and currently provide service to over 300 families in the Triangle.
Will I have the same sitter each time I use your service?
We make every effort to assign the same team member each time you use our service but do rely on our entire team to cover our service area so that we remin available when you need us most. In the event that your regular team member is unavailable, you will always have the opportunity to meet your alternate prior to service. This will allow you and your pets to be comfortable and familiar with anyone providing care.
What type of pets do you take care of?
We are trained and equipped to provide pet sitting services for traditional house pets like cats, kittens, dogs and puppies, but we also have experience with hamsters, rabbits, fish, turtles, and snakes. Chances are, if you have it, we can take care of it. Just ask us and we’ll let you know.
